Some women refer simply to washing their faces as a skincare routine. Well, we would like to break that bubble of yours. Merely washing your face doesn’t ensure your skin to be in the healthiest state. Just like your hands and feet like getting pampered after all that exhaustion from the day, our skin asks for some pampering too as it gets subjected to various outdoor elements.
To ensure that your skin remains in the healthiest state all the time, try incorporating some changes to your skincare routine. We have made a list of a few skincare rituals that you can add to your daily routine.
1. ALWAYS TAKE YOUR MAKEUP OFF
No matter what time of day or night it is, don’t ever forget to take your makeup off. It is the most important rule to follow in any skincare routine. Having your makeup on would mean your skin may get subjected to acne breakouts as it is considered to be a safe haven for acne-causing bacteria.
You can easily remove your makeup using makeup remover or makeup wipes or any other way you prefer or feels convenient to you. Just make sure to take it off before hitting your pillow.
You should cleanse your face twice a day. Once in the morning and once before you go to bed. No matter if you had applied any makeup or not, you should always wash your face once at night. As it cleanses all the dust, bacteria and other elements accumulated on the skin. You can use any cleanser that suits you or even the prescribed ones if someone is dealing with skin problems.
Prefer washing your face with warm water as it helps to remove dirt and will not dry out your skin. Dab your face with a soft and clean towel.
3. APPLY TONER
Toning is also an effective tool to ensure beautiful skin. It has an amazing property of reducing the size of pores. So when any makeup product is applied onto the face, the pores won’t get clogged which is the major cause behind all that acne.
Apply it on the face using a cotton pad once you’ve dried it down using a towel. Let your skin soak it in for a minute or two. Then go ahead with the further process.
If you are a person who has dry or sensitive skin then avoid using toners which has alcohol in it.
4. MOISTURIZE YOUR SKIN WELL
Moisturizing your skin is really important to ensure it remains well hydrated. Even if you have oily skin type, make sure you’ve your moisturizer on. Apply it in an upward circular motion after toning your face.
For day time routine, you should not forget to apply sunscreen on your face. As sun exposure can cause dark spots, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation to form on your face. It also helps in preventing skin cancer.
Just make sure to apply sunscreen even if it is a little gloomy outside.
6. EYE CREAM
Applying an eye cream once a day is also essential, especially at night. It helps in improving the skin quality around the eyes and also helps to boost collagen activity.
7. EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN
Exfoliating your skin once or twice a week is an effective way to get rid of all the impurities and dead skin cells. Having it done more than twice a week may cause damage to your skin. Apply it on wet face and then massage it using soft movements. Just remember to be very gentle when doing so.
