Curling your lashes after using mascara

An eyelash curler can work wonders for your lashes, it helps to uplift them and make them look more luscious. And the correct way to use an eyelash curler is to curl your lashes before wearing mascara. Using an eyelash curler after wearing mascara can damage your eyelash cuticles and that can make your lashes to break. Therefore, always use it before applying mascara and make sure to not keep it too close to the lash rim.

Sleeping with your mascara on

Mascara is very much part of makeup and taking it off before hitting your bed is as important as it is to remove your foundation or the rest of your makeup. Sleeping with any sort of makeup on is one of the biggest beauty sins, and sleeping with your mascara on can invite a lot of problems, such as skin irritation, thinning of lashes, or even lash fall out. Leaving it on your lashes can also clog the hair follicles and oil glands.

Using expired mascara

Using expired mascara is one of the worst things you could be doing to your lashes. Mascara is known to have a short shelf life, and coating your lashes with an expired product will end up with dire consequences. Ideally, mascara is considered safe to be used from two to three months of opening it, anything beyond that can increase the chances of eye infection. Therefore, you should be very careful while using your mascara.

Constantly rubbing your eyes

Rubbing your eyes too hard is one of the biggest mistakes to commit, it is known to have several disadvantages, and those disadvantages are nothing but bad news. Not only it can cause some serious damage to your eyes and result in vision impairment but it can also ruin your natural lashes and leave them scanty, you don’t want to find yourself in the middle of either of the scenarios.

Wearing waterproof mascara every time

Waterproof makeup is one of the best things to have happened to us, but it can also turn out to be the worst if you aren’t careful enough. As much as we love to have the security of our mascara not giving up on us, it is ideal to be worn only at special events like marriages, parties, or any other event but most definitely not on an everyday basis. Wearing mascara on a regular basis can damage your lashes in the long run. Since it is very hard to take off waterproof mascara from your lashes, which involves some tugging and pulling, it’s probably best to not use this product on a daily basis and save it for specific occasions only.
